I mentioned the other day that my 5X Great Grandparents had a daughter, Mary Buckle.
It appears that Mary was married in 1761 to William Cothron.
The wedding was held in the parish church at Pickhill on 23rd November 1761.
No further information is available and I’m not 100% certain that this record is for my ancestor. But how many Mary Buckle’s of the right age would there have been in a small village?
When I began researching family history the availability of 18th century parish records on-line was very limited. I could only (!!!) get to my great, great grandfather Christopher Buckle in the mid-19th century. The huge increase in available records is truly fantastic. And contrives to keep family history addictive!
